Classroom Thermal Stress Guidelines and Preventing Heat Stress

Every year, we receive reports of concerns about classroom heat. Below are guidelines for you to better understand what is considered thermal stress.

If you believe that the heat in your class is concerning.

Step one – Take this to your site-based JOHSC committee for discussion. Ensure that the discussion is minuted.

Step two – If you feel that the discussion was not fruitful or one-sided, communicate with your Health and Safety Chair so that they can advocate for you better (also give the chair a copy of the minutes so that this discussion can be brought to other tables of discussion)
